After first becoming interested in talk therapy as a 16 year old volunteer in a hospital, he discovered how rewarding it was to help take patient's minds off their problems.
Richard says of this time "These were mostly physical ailments and yet just by talking and listening, I found that patients needed less pain control medication."

After a successful career in construction management this original interest prompted him to train in Hypnosis and take the plunge to work as a professional hypnotherapist. 
His commitment to ethical practice and ongoing personal development was soon recognised and he was invited to take up the post of Director Of Development within The National Council For Hypnotherapy.

Richard's original training was with The Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis and he has further developed his skills with various other training organisations including A Self Hypnosis Instructors Course, Hypnosis For Birthing, National Guild Certified Instructors Course, Hypnosis For Weight Loss Specialist Certification, The HPD which is the National Diploma in Hypnotherapy, which is the nationally recognised qualification, equivalent to NVQ Level 4 and is accredited through NCFE.

His most recent qualification is a diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy through the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. This is a UKCP accredited qualification and is an advanced practitioner's course enabling him to deal with issues outside of basic Hypnotherapists skill base. 

Individual sessions with Richard are £80 each and for a double session for Smoking Cessation is £200.
